In for XXXXL.

The issue comes when everyone needs to size down and we lose a true XXXL and gain a XXS
Oh I know… I’ve seen the dynamic working in real time on big drop days. I totally feel for you. It must make deciding on UHF numbers (always tricky anyway) an absolute nightmare lottery (but the twat in me is a little selfishly happy. Sorry(ish)) [emoji1]

I’m rather twatty as well, I guess. The p2p’s in the latest releases have been spot on for tastes.

I'm curious as to what the last extant release was and when it was issued? There have been some excellent products released recently that have all been endangered, what would appear to be a growing customer base scrabbling over limited production runs…It can be very frustrating for those of us that don't have the level of disposable income to purchase on issue, while waiting a few months to buy one is not an option as it would sell out.
I guess that's why you announce issue dates so long before issue?

Off the top of my head, IH-526PJ and IH-9526PJ.
We simply can't have too much extant product, the cost in space and tied up working capital would break both IHUK and IHJP.
Alex and I are working hard on how we predict demand and future sales and how we keep popular stuff from not running out. That includes making more than we currently need of an item and leaving it in Hachioji (that so we can fulfil US and Asian retailers from Japan, when they need restocks). That has an impact on Haraki, as many of the items popular outside of Japan are not sold in Japan, so he has to find space for IHUK inventory, and it has an impact on us, because we pay for it when the production run is complete.
We do try to give as much "look what's coming down the pike" info as possible, to allow people to prioritise.
-
And you guys do a fantatstic job of that. No other company gives customers a peek at what's coming down the pike as good as IH.
-
@Giles to echo @manufc10 sentiments, my comments were certainly not intended to deride IH. You and your team do a fantastic job. Very few companies are interested let alone able to provide the level of customer services that you do.
I do also appreciate the implications on businesses of managing the fundamental matter of supply and demand…or in this instance demand and supply! Hopefully the moleskin CPO will stick around for a month or so!
-
It’s obvious the solution here is to do another moleskin CPO. This time in charcoal. Problem solved

I feel your pain This is why I like that IHUK gives us release dates far in advance so that we can budget accordingly. I completely understand where IH is coming from though in terms of the cost side of things. It's better that IH runs out of stuff rather than have shelves full of unsold stock taking up space. Here's the silver lining in all of this, more vendors have been picking up IH, at least here in the US, so that means more availability on certain items.

I know it's been mentioned before that you guys have a "Let the customers buy what they want, first…" policy for new release items... I imagine that leaves you guys gutted from time to time, missing out on items that you were looking forward to.
Care to share with us some of the "ones that got away" from you?
