It's like a 7 year old did the first one, and a 7 year old Rob Zombie did the 2nd one.
Damn that made me laugh [emoji1787]

I got a pair of jeans from a different very hyped and very popular Japanese brand out of curiosity and I received them today. I absolutely hate the texture and feel of the denim. The threads are really thin, the pockets are unlined, belt loops not tucked into the waistband… etc. Not going to give up my Iron Heart's for that stuff, ever.
Don't ask if I'm selling them, they ain't for sale and I'm not gonna say what brand.
I do like how they fit so I'll probably save them for dates and occasions where I don't want to stink.

Not all brands have the same goals…
That doesn’t necessarily make the less or more quality. I’m wearing mostly repro brand jeans, so those automatically use less heavy denim, cotton stitching etc…Everyone has their style.

Yep, you're right. There's also a significant difference in cost. But I was just saying I for me, that I wouldn't want to commit to wearing anything else but iron heart, every single day. More or less saying too, I don't get the hype…

@Filthy Ooe Yofukuten? (I know you said you won't disclosure :D)

No sorry, I am not trying to undermine a brand's reputation…

Going to a friend's funeral today who was only 45…5 years of blood clots, amputation of limbs, and just a plethora of everything that could go wrong...
Never complained and said it could always be worse. He was a great man who would give you the shirt off his back and help even when he couldn't...
Sometimes life isn't fair...

Man sorry @goosehd it's so hard to say goodbye to the good ones.

I hear ya @Filthy . My prejudice for IH is based on my values, which include quality and durability. I haven't found a brand that excels in those areas AND matches my style like Iron Heart, so I keep coming back. I've so often been disappointed when my IH expectations apply to other brands. There are many amazing brands in this space doing amazing things, but none of them match my values quite like IH.
Iron Heart is "slow fashion" and built to last structurally and in terms of timeless style. I have garments running ten years strong that I expect to outlast me, and "buy it for life" is important to me in terms of common sense and sustainability.

@Filthy Ooe Yofukuten? (I know you said you won't disclosure :D)
OOE Yofukuten makes an incredible pair of jeans. No one is going to confuse them with IH or vice versa. The two brands are really apples and oranges so in my opinion there is little to compare.

Please don't take my statement about personal preference as a criticism in any way. My initial statement was more of an affirmation for my enjoyment of iron heart. I am keeping the jeans and plan on wearing them. I just hate how they feel. But they fit pretty great.
-
Definitely not viewed as a criticism. I just think if you are a very big fan of IH jeans, you will be hard pressed to find another brand that scratches that itch. It is a very different product than really any of the other high end denim brands out there.

Condolences @goosehd . That's awful.

@steelworker @mclaincausey @Giles Thank you.

My brother Doug died unexpectedly last week. He was just 40. He was a big IH fan too, but I don’t think he ever joined the forum.
He has 14 year old twin sons, and they’re already wearing some of his clothes.
One of his wife’s (well-meaning) friends told her she’ll want to throw all his clothes away soon. His wife told me her answer was along the lines of “Are you kidding? I’m keeping every single thing, and the boys and I will be fighting over who gets to wear what.”
Anyway, if you have someone you love that you haven’t seen in person or talked to on the phone in a while, do what you can to remedy that. Not even your next minute is guaranteed.

The story about Doug and his family gave me all the feels @jat thank you for sharing.
And your parting advice is excellent advice.

My condolences. Lovely story though. Best wishes to his wife and boys.
