IHTL-1213 - Thermal Waffle Henley
-
Just got in a grey Henley and a white thermal, sized down to medium from my normal large in basically all IH shirting, inudi g UHFs. Fit is awesome, a tick snug at the start but I expect some stretch. Quality of the fabric, as always, is awesome. Glad we've had some cooler days here in Annapolis so I get to wear it for a couple days.

Exactly how it should be. It is a small miracle the way the fabric stretches.

A few hours later the fit was on point, I think I've got a new "toss-on" favorite, and something I'll need to stop myself from buying in every color

I have two of each in every colour, but it is the foundation of my wardrobe. I use them on their own, under vests and as undershirts with UHF in the winter.

I think these might be the most worn item in my wardrobe

I flip flop wearing a t underneath, though I tend to wear a t under most things. I air dry them, though the fabric is so malleable I question how much damage a low temp machine dry could do.
-
I feel like going over bare skin would require more frequent washing lest the underarms get too spicy. I envisioned this being a single base layer but after getting my hands on them today I think over a tee is the way to go.
Unless anyone chimes in with bad dryer experiences I feel like a tumble could help put them back into shape after a wear and wash. They just arrived today and are wonderful. Can’t wait for some appropriate waffle weather.
-
@Matt I agree tumble drying would more or less just return them to their starting shape, ready to stretch back out through a few wears

Late to the game on Matt’s query, but don’t overthink these. I treat mine like I got them at Kmart. It’s expensive and exceptional, but at the end of the day it’s a base layer that should be treated as such. Years of doing so has not appreciably damaged any of mine in any way.

@mclaincausey I hear that. I am not an adherent to babying my IH stuff typically. Im a machine wash when they’re dirty type of guy and my standards for dirty are pretty loose. Smelly is probably a better qualifier. I only ask on these because the fabric is new to me and I went with my usual shirt size instead of sizing down. As the measurements were smaller. They fit perfectly out of the bag, I was just looking for some insight about longterm wear and care.
I’ll get some photos up eventually. I was motivated to get the black one because I thought it would look great with my 502 cargos. The grey one helped put me over the free shipping threshold. I wish we could get some indigo dyed ones…

There was a run of such–I would cop another one if Sirs](https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=7898) Giles and @Alex could make it happen again.

Also late to respond, i have collected multiple sizes and colours of these through the years. I use them generally as bade layers and wash them as such. Couple of wears, then a wash.
They are probably my most washed bit of IH, and the oldest (six or seven years old?), must have been washed a hundred times or more. Still going strong.
No shrinkage on any kind of wash/dry.
