Coronavirus (Covid-19) Discussion

I couldn’t get my booster fast enough. I got it before they opened them up to everyone. The pharmacies weren’t asking any questions either. I think they wanted everyone to get them anyway. They were trying to give out all the shots. They were like Flu Shot? Got it thanks. How about shingles? Dude, how old do you think I am? I only felt bad after my second shot, all three Moderna. The 1st and third were just soreness on the arm. Now that omicron, my least favorite Transformer, is here I hope more people get boosted.

I had exactly the same experience as Matt–went before my time, no one cared, and only the second of 3 Moderna shots generated symptoms.
I am hoping that the infectiousness of Omicron is indeed paired as suspected with less severe infection. Then it could be a strain that at least generates antibodies as it runs through the population.

I read about some decent research today about this today. It seems that the same changes that make it super spreadable also prevent it from going into the lungs where the earlier variants have done the damage.
It seems to reproduce very quickly in the nose mouth and throat, generating a high viral load, but can’t travel further. The article also stated that updated vaccination provides 75% protection, which is more than previously thought.
Source is in Norwegian I’m afraid:

I’m back in the US for Christmas and just got my Moderna booster. They didn’t care that it was only 5 and a half months since the second shot. I wanted to get it before flying back to Germany in case Omicron explodes during the next few weeks.
I had minimal side effects in terms of a headache and muscle aches, like I experienced after the second dose. But I was in a bitchy mood the entire day after receiving it. On the second day I felt fine.

Norway is struggling with Omicron. Highest ever rate of infection and hospitalisation with covid. Part of the strategy here is shortening the time between dose two and three to four months. I took my third Pfizer today.

No alternative opinions in this thread? What a shame. I'll say a piece and move on. I see the aggression to people earlier in thread that don't go along.
Nobody is going to be mandating to me or altering my immune system. The line is drawn. This is the hill to die on.
America's Frontline Doctors has successful alternative treatments. Find one. Do a video appointment if you get sick. Keep your god given immune system.
I wont be responding to rabid vaccinator comments. I say this with love to my fellow forumites that I care for deeply. There are alternatives. I wish you all good health
