What’s the most breathable denim?
-
21oz is such a amazing denim and very breathable if were tslking about the indigo version. I had a slubby and imo that’s the most breathable denim but overall i think 21oz is the perfect 4 season denim. But that’s just my 2 cents

Yes, I also admit that my 21 oz is the most breathable fabric among the other IH denim's that I own. I had it on when it was humid outside and it was not that bad.

@Giles love it how you chime in in the morning while having breakfast on Sakura great day G

@Giles that’s a lovely spot.. they call it the golden spot for surfing.. Sakura is on golden shore

I haven't tried the 14oz denim, but I can attest that the 16oz slubby is very breathable indeed, and is lovely and soft.
-
By a wide margin slub among the ones I have tried. 21 may actually breathe a bit more that 14 but don’t quite me on that.
-
To chime in on the 14oz department and it’s only my opinion so could be wrong.. but 16oz breaths more, then 21oz and then 14oz but it’s just my first 14oz and i only tried it on for like seconds

Totally newbie, so take my comments with a grain of salt.
I find that the 21oz wears cooler than the 16oz slub (to me).

Hi all! For me, the thinner weave, the easier it is in the heat. In the sun, any dark-colored jeans are hot. There is no universal option. In softer and worn out jeans, it will be more comfortable.

Any plans for a restock on the 634 SLB?
-
This may be obvious, but regardless of denim weight, a looser fitting cut is going to breathe more than a tighter fitting one. I found my 633N 17oz to be the most comfortable in hotter temps compared to my 14 and 21 oz, but a looser fit helps.

X3, looser the fit the cooler wearing for me as well.

I don’t own a pair of the slub 16oz, but I have a few pairs of 14, 21 and the 17N. I wear the 555 17N, so even though they are pretty snug, they are very wearable in hot weather.
I wear the 17N as a cook in a pretty hot kitchen, but on crazy hot days like 30+ days I wear a pair of 12oz wabash a size too big.

I wore the 21oz 777 for year 2 and the 14oz 666ib for year 3 of the indigo invitational. I agree with a lot of the comments on here. The 21 felt breathable but it’s still heavy. The 14oz is not as breathable but it is lighter so it felt good in the same warmer temperatures. If I’m going to be in hot weather I think I would go with my 14oz. With all that being said, my 555 16oz feels really nice in hot weather as well. You’ll probably end up getting a pair in each weight in one or a few of your favorite fits like me. You can’t go wrong

@indigogera I haven’t worn the 14 or 21 oz as long, but my experience is the same: the 14 oz is very slightly cooler in the heat. That said, I live in an area with limited summer humidity and wind, and those factors may play into my experience.
Also agreed with those who find the 17 oz surprisingly wearable in the summer.
