IH-634S-A - 21oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans (20th Anniversary Edition)

As Giles mentioned, they are similar with the 634's top block being a bit roomier. Look at the thigh measurement on both cuts and that will tell you the story. For the same tag size the 634 gives you more room from top block to knee.

Package arrived in less than 24h
I must confess the 634 cut is now my favourite against the 888.
I may still wear a more tapered legged shape with western boots, but the 634 is so neat!Looks great on you. I’m on the same road. Love my 888’s but now found my favorite in the 634 and have them in four different ‘flavors’ [emoji1690][emoji41]

634 rocks. It has an enduring quality about it. Will never go out of style.

@alexpupin looking good! Mine should arrive on Monday.
-
@alexpupin - they look great! Did you take the same waist size in the 634 as you do in the 888s?
-
Thanks everyone!
@Goosetown actually, yes, I did choose a size down. From ~34 to exactly 33. Given the lower waistline of the 634 compared to the 888, I wanted them tight ant the hip and not slipping down too much.
I think with size 33 you get a 34 inseam instead of a 36.

Fit check. Please tell me I did the right thing by ordering a 33 and not a 34. I was risky and got them hemmed at 29 inches.
I think they are mostly okay. A little tight in the crotch. My junk is used to having more room. -
looks perfect to me
wear em and you will be surprised how much they strech and how comfy they´ll be. -
They are not tight. They will loosen up nicely. Just wear them alot. I think if you went bigger, they would of ended up too loose after some wears.
-
Top block looks on the trim side, but if this is the first wear, the waist will stretch meaningfully, and everything else will loosen.
Agree with trim.
Areas under stress will stretch.
Crotch to waistband is not one of these areas. If I understand you correctly that is where you need more give. Circumference at crotch level will stretch less than waist, but you get a spanner down there and stretch that area when jeans are wet.
Good Luck.

Also agree with all of this, but in my experience everything loosens up a little with wear and the whole top block gets a lot of action (pardon me), through bending, walking, twisting turning etc. If it was UHR or the like I’d be more sceptical but the 21oz loosens everywhere and quickly.
I like the spanner idea. The image made me giggle too.

the 21oz denim is more forgiving than it looks. I got an extra half inch out of the thigh measurement on my 21oz 888s, so I think you'll be able to work with the size. Do some deep squats and lunges in the jeans, sit in a chair for a while, and you should loosen up the top block nicely.
-
I’m hoping once the waist stretches they will sit lower and the crotch will get more room.

They will… I went very tight with this pair and it relaxed nicely after a few wears
-
They will stretch mate, waist and hips and give you the room you need. Just wear them as often as possible.

I am wearing mine for the first time and coming from the 888, the top block is a bit slimmer which is a detail I forgot about.
Overall, I havent felt like this since the first pair I bought, the 21 oz DC4001. Besides the obvious differences the 634A reminds me of them….crispy fresh 21oz denim, the snug waist band, and the air of something special about them. It really has me feeling nostalgic [emoji3]
